But Always, There is Light.
This is tragedy beyond comprehension
This is grief felt round the world.
This is hearts that now feel heavy,
And cannot fly as flags unfurled.
No sunlight bounces off the windows,
The beautiful towers are no more.
But even in piles of shattered concrete,
Light finds its way through tiny pores.
Love is already fast at work.
Human kindness is everywhere.
Rescuers toil past exhaustion,
Past their feelings of despair.
We reach out to one another,
Whether by thoughts, or tears or deed.
We take comfort from each other,
And as one we will succeed.
Our invisible hands are linked,
We are together in this plight.
We will together conquer darkness,
And together, restore the light.
