For the First
Time
You are not
beside me
yet I feel your
touch on my skin.
A gentle heated
breeze,
as your thoughts
caress me again.
Love, it seems,
can find me
in each place I
thought I could hide.
Gone are safety
barriers,
joy now refuses
to be denied.
When I look into
your eyes
and see passion
reflected there,
my heart skips
several beats
and my lungs
refuse to hold air.
I crave your
gentle kisses,
they now turn my
knees to jelly.
Each time I look
at your lips
tortured knots
form in my belly.
Despite my best
intentions
to remain just as
a close friend,
you’ve become a
part of me
and I no longer
can pretend.
Tonight for the
first time
you will hear me
say “I Love You.”
Words you are now
reading
will be most
sincerely renewed
Tonight…….
