UNTITLED
Every night as I lay down to sleep
I think of you, and smile
Every morning when I wake up
I lie there and dream of you a while.
A dream, nothing more
Is what you'll always be
A shadow, never more
Living in my memory.
I believe I love you
But I'll never be quite sure
Until the day I can hold you
And must dream of you no more.
Be mine, make me happy
Say no, and make me sad
Either way I must tell you
About these feeling that I've had.
I want to know you better
Please say that it can be
I don't have much to offer
Except this dreamer that is me.
If you have built castles in the
air,
your work need not be
lost;
that is where they should
be
Now put the foundations under them.
Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862)
American essayist, poet and mystic
Take your dream,
attach it to a star and never lose it.
If you lose it ...
you've lost your enthusiasm;
you've settled for something
less
This will never do.
Fight like hell for your dream -
and get it.
