Saturday Morning
With thoughts of work dismissed for
two days
my mind tends to drift to places quite strange.
Why is a pair of mouses a mice
yet hundreds of houses do not make hice?
We have butter that flies, cake that walks
an opera of soap and a show that talks,
Perfect men don't exist we're convinced
yet frog ribbits near bring hopes of a prince!
Why does your puppy chase her own tail
to capture herself, pursuit doomed to fail?
And why is the cat under your bed
emerging licked clean with dust on it’s head?
I ponder these thoughts most amazing
sipping my coffee, no need for racing.
Oceans, rivers, the stars and beyond
I’ve been there today right here by my pond.

Wrap up this moment, give it away
all over the world, a fabulous day.
No wars, no fighting, love wrapped around
each soul and each heart - tranquility found.
